Duff Mckagan’s Loaded announce a string of UK dates including main support for Alice Cooper and co-headline shows with Ugly Kid Joe in the UK in October 2012.

Also in October, for one night only, Duff McKagan (Guns N’ Roses, Velvet Revolver) will introduce Europe to the live performance based on his best-selling memoir “It's So Easy: And Other Lies” (Orion). Duff has already taken this live performance “It’s So Easy: A Punk’s Review” to the USA – but for the first time in Europe, on October 23rd at the Garage in London the audience will see and hear him read excerpts from his explosive autobiography, perform acoustically and end the night with a Q&A: An entertaining and brutally honest insight into the life and adventures of one of rock music’s true performers, this is a show not to be missed.

Duff McKagan's Loaded last album, “The Taking”, can be found on Eagle Rock’s Armoury Records.  This is the band’s third album and the first to feature new drummer Isaac Carpenter.  The rest of the line-up is, of course, Duff McKagan on vocals and rhythm guitar, Mike Squires on lead guitar and BVs and Jeff Rouse on Bass and BVs. The album features 11 new songs, produced by the legendary Terry Date [Slipknot, Soundgarden, Pantera etc].  The result is Loaded’s most accomplished and hard-hitting album to date of which Duff McKagan says, “This is the album I’ve been trying to make for several years.  I’m proud of the songs, the music and the spirit of this record.”

JUDAS PRIEST SCREAMING FOR VENGEANCE SPECIAL 30TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION

JUDAS PRIEST
SCREAMING FOR VENGEANCE SPECIAL 30TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION
Release date: 24th September 2012

“One of the most important, influential and imitated bands ever…” – Kerrang,

A vital part of rock history - Judas Priest have spent 4 decades writing classic songs and putting on spectacular live shows. During this period, the band has sold in excess of 30 million albums, and played to countless millions of fans across the globe.  In 1982, they released their eighth studio album SCREAMING FOR VENGEANCE, containing their hugely successful You’ve Got Another Thing Coming, the single which proved that metal could get mainstream radio airplay in the US – leading the way for a whole generation of new metal bands.

To celebrate the 30 year anniversary of this epic release, Judas Priest present you with SCREAMING FOR VENGEANCE – SPECIAL 30TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION, containing not only the re-mastered original album plus bonus tracks, but also a live DVD from the 1983 US Festival show, filmed in San Bernadino CA on 29th May 1983.

The US Festival was intended to be a celebration of evolving technologies; a marriage of music, computers, television and people - organized by Steve Wozniak formerly of Apple Computer.

The SCREAMING FOR VENGEANCE – SPECIAL 30TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION Live DVD was filmed at the second, and what turned out to be last, US Festival in 1983. The Sunday was the Heavy Metal Day -"It was the day new wave died and rock n' roll took over". It set the single-day concert attendance record for the US with an estimated 375,000 people.

Judas Priest have this to say about this memorable day in metal history:

‘On the day that we performed, we flew in by helicopter - and the first sight we saw was that of thousands of abandoned cars piled up around the crests of the hills that surrounded the festival arena, which as we went over took our breath away. For there below us, spread throughout hundreds of acres was a massive crowd – over three hundred thousand strong! The summer heat was raging and combined with the hot Santa Ana winds made for a scorching metal furnace on stage.’

LA FUTURA ARRIVES THIS SEPTEMBER FROM ZZ TOP

The first new studio album from ZZ Top in nine years is LA FUTURA, set for release September 11 by American Recordings. The album harks back to the hallmark raw sound of the band's formative years and will, inevitably, be considered a return to form on multiple levels. LA FUTURA, produced by Rick Rubin and Billy F Gibbons, the band’s guitarist/singer, finds the legendary group infusing the newly recorded work with the electric blues/roots approach that typified ZZ Top's earliest work while, at the same time, reaching for new sonic horizons. At its fundament, this is the incarnation of the band whose influence resonates today with such artists as The Black Keys, Jack White, Queens of the Stone Age and many others.

Now celebrating their 42nd year with the same line-up, Gibbons along with bassist/vocalist Dusty Hill and drummer Frank Beard have come up with ten tracks that reflect the band’s intuitive take on rock brought to new, sometimes surreal, plateaus. “We thought long and hard about what this album should be,” commented Gibbons. “We wanted to recall the directness of our early stuff but not turn our backs on contemporary technology. The result of this melding of the past and the present is, of course, LA FUTURA.”

The fact that the new album’s title is in Spanish is a nod to an early ZZ Top tradition manifested in the titles of some of the band’s earliest albums including Tres Hombres, Fandango!, El Loco and Degüello. Known for decades by the sobriquet “That Little Ol’ Band From Texas,” ZZ Top was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame by Keith Richards in 2004 and has maintained a very active international and domestic touring schedule over the intervening years. They signed to American Recordings a few years ago and have been working on what would become LA FUTURA in spurts since then. Last year they finally entered Foam Box Recordings in Houston, working full time to lay down the tracks that would comprise LA FUTURA. Additional recording for the album took place at Shangri La Studios in Malibu, CA.

The four songs that kick off LA FUTURA, “I Gotsta Get Paid,” “Chartreuse,” “Consumption” and “Over You” debuted last month as Texicali, a digital preview collection exclusively available from iTunes that achieved significant critical and sales success. “I Gotsta Get Paid,” performed by the band in video spots for the Jeremiah Weed line of beverages raised awareness of the song that was inspired by the 1990’s underground Houston rap song “25 Lighters” by DJ DMD with Lil’ Keke and Fat Pat. USA Today named "“I Gotsta Get Paid” its top pick of the week, citing the band for unleashing "its trademark grit and grease in a raw, bluesy rough-and-tumble treatment..." No Depression called "Consumption" "a grinding groove with a bit of Texan funk squeezed into the grooves." Music Radar analyzed "Consumption," noting, "The groove is fat, crunchy and full of swagger," summing the effort us as "ZZ Top crankin' up some fresh, vital roadhouse blues."

Also part of LA FUTURA is, fittingly, “Flyin’ High.” The track made its interstellar debut when it was piped into the Soyuz spacecraft at the time of its launch to the International Space Station thirteen months ago. Before it was fully completed, the song was heard onboard at the request of NASA Astronaut Mike Fossum, a long-time ZZ Top fan and intimate who had caught wind of it in an earlier conversation with Dusty Hill.

LA FUTURA also includes “I Don’t Wanna Lose, Lose, You” that has a real garage rock feel while “Big Shiny Nine” is a double entendre tour de force. “It’s Too Easy Mañana” is a down tempo lament, written by Gillian Welch and David Rawlings, whose chorus includes the lyric “it’s too easy to feel good.” “Heartache In Blue” includes vocals shared by Gibbons and Hill and can be likened to country blues as reimagined for the 21st Century. The album closes with “Have A Little Mercy,” a down and dirty funky tune, complete with tempo shift, that should serve to underscore the ZZ Top motto that “you just can’t lose with the blues.”
The band will embark on a string of U.S. dates, highlighted by a rare New York appearance at The Beacon Theatre the day after the release of LA FUTURA. A major multi-tiered marketing campaign will coincide with the release of LA FUTURA, bringing the good news that, at long last, there’s a new ZZ Top album to the nation and the world.

Greg Lake Extends Songs of a Lifetime to UK and Europe Following Successful North American Tour

Legendary Vocalist Greg Lake Extends Songs of a Lifetime to UK and Europe Following Successful North American Tour

Greg Lake, tours the UK and Europe in “Songs of a Lifetime”, a shared musical journey full of drama and laughter  which critics hail as an “artistic triumph” and fans say is the “experience of a lifetime”

August 14, 2012 - Legendary singer and songwriter Greg Lake tours the UK and Europe in Songs of a Lifetime, a shared musical journey and performance experience, which received rave reviews from fans and critics alike in North America. The tour begins this November 2012 in the UK.

Hailed as an "artistic triumph" and "the experience of a lifetime", Songs of a Lifetime gives new insight into Greg Lake and his influences, while showcasing the influence his writing and voice have had not only for rock and roll, but contemporary music of all types.

Greg Lake has long been considered a legendary voice and musical powerhouse whose impact changed the landscape of rock and roll. Many simply refer to him as “The Voice.” Visionary and creative, Songs of a Lifetime provides an evocative, emotional ride into the life and music of one of the world’s most popular songwriters in a unique format which relies on audience involvement as well as the artistry of the performer.

The tour gives theatre goers the opportunity to hear songs written by Lake and others from Emerson, Lake & Palmer, King Crimson, the Beatles, Curtis Mayfield, Elvis, and more reimagined and reinterpreted for the stage. Audience members are encouraged to ask questions and share musical memories. The customized design allows for a different and personal experience for the audience and artist every night, featuring stories of Lake’s encounters with other musical greats who influenced him as well as shared memories created from what Greg calls “the shared journey” he has with the audience which allows the gift of music to “move from soul to soul and spirit to spirit.”

The show’s appeal has moved beyond fans of Greg Lake’s music, which helped fuel generations of rock and roll, to those who simply love music. Both those intimately familiar with Greg’s music and those who come to the show with roots in classical, blues, and succeeding generations of rock and roll find themselves enchanted and entranced.

“The concept of performing an intimate and autobiographical show presents a huge challenge,” Lake says. “The evolution of the experience is so invigorating it still gives me a thrill every time I think about it. The task is to develop an event that is memorable and unique, unexpected and impactful. I want to defy expectations and defy what people expect when they hear the words ‘one man show’. I am pleased to say that we have been successful in stepping up to that challenge to create an experiential show that is as much an event as it is a performance.”

“We create an intimate and unusual event together,” he adds. “However, at the end of the night the most important [thing] of all is that everyone feels entertained and enriched by the whole live experience.”

More surprises are ahead for fans and each show is both exciting and different. Lake has taken care to explode expectations of the ordinary to create something extraordinary.

“This is not a boring show, with me just strumming folk songs,” Greg promises. "It is a highly produced show with lots of drama and pathos,” he continues. “Everyone feels part of something indescribable, remarkable and enlightening, as well as having been entertained by shared memories of our musical journeys together.”

The UK and European legs of the tour follow a successful North American run, with rave reviews by audience members and critics alike.

"If you love music, you will love this show. I've never felt so much part of what is happening."

"Greg Lake's music is the music of my life. I can't believe that I had the opportunity to speak with him, laugh with him, and to feel as if he and I were in his living room, good friends sharing good times."

"Greg Lake is so humble and moving. He speaks with deep respect and humility of his idols in rock and roll, while the audience regards him as the iconic equals of those he honours."

"It is an amazing show, not to be missed. I've seen it all and thought I heard it all, but if you love music, if you love rock and roll, you want to be part of this."

The tour coincides with the upcoming release of Greg Lake’s autobiography, Lucky Man, and was inspired by it, but the two are not the same.

The autobiography is NOT an audio recording of the show, but a narrative of Lake’s experiences from childhood to the present, including never before revealed details, funny and poignant moments, and colorful facts of his amazing career as one of the world’s leading and influential musicians, songwriters, vocalists and poets. The autobiography will be released in three audio book volumes, read by the author. The first volume will be available at the show; the complete print edition is anticipated at the end of the year.

New editions of Greg Lake’s solo albums and DVDs are also expected to be made exclusively available to those fans in attendance.

Special VIP packages, which include sound check attendance, post-show interaction and photo opportunities, post-show receptions with the singer and signed merchandise, are available at www.greglake.com.

Greg Lake is managed by Stewart Young and the UK and European Dates are booked by World Concert Artists. corrado@worldconcertartists.org. More information can be found at www.greglake.com .

Bon Scott Biopic in Pre-Production– The Legend Of AC/DC

One of Australia's  most loved and enduring rock bands AC/DC are heading towards their 40th Anniversary and  it seems that just in time to celebrate is a new movie looking at the historic legacy of the band’s iconic singer, Bon Scott

The plot of the film Bon Scott – The Legend Of AC/DC
is said to explore the period of time in which Scott  helped rocket the band to international stardom  up until his tragic death from 'misadventure' in 1980.

Singer/writer Rob Liotti who has portrayed Bon Scott for a number of years in his tribute band TNT is penning  the sreenplay for the  film

Rob Liotti says: "There are a lot of challenges with a project of this type. One of the biggest challenges is authenticity. This is an American production of an ostensibly Australian-based story. Therefore, dialect is highly important, as well as capturing the true dynamic of the band and its members."

Certainly a big challenge and a story  many AC/DC fans will want to see told.
