 MICHAEL SCHENKER "BRIDGE THE GAP"

UK RELEASE DATE DECEMBER 2, 2013
USA RELEASE DATE JANUARY 7, 2014

Michael Schenker's new studio album, "Bridge The Gap" will be released in the UK on December 2, 2013. The album was recorded from January through March 2013 at Kidroom Studios in Germany and was produced by Michael Schenker and Michael Voss, and engineered by Michael Voss.

This is an exciting time for Schenker as he explains to our own Jon Kirkman in a recent interview, "My life has been divided in three sections and I've been preserved for the third part of my life to finish it being in a good solid loop of rock n' roll and now is a time for celebration."  Michael explains, "I've been able to experiment with music and fulfill my dreams as a guitarist, something I wasn't able to do in the middle part of my life, and it has made me better in all sorts of ways and as a person to."  Schenker is as finely tuned as his guitar saying, "I didn't enjoy being on stage for many years and now I am enjoying it and having fun."   Michael wrote this album, trying to get a balance between songs that are heavy, fast and melodic, complimented by his signature guitar solos.  "I wanted to combine the old with the new,” says Schenker. “That's why the album's called "Bridge The Gap."

Wayne Findlay, Herman Rarebell, Michael Schenker, Doogie White, Francis Buchholz

Michael and his Temple Of Rock band are featured on "Bridge The Gap" which consists of ex-Scorpions drummer Herman Rarebell and bassist Francis Buchholz, vocalist Doogie White (ex-Rainbow) and Wayne Findlay (guitar, keyboards).  What an incredible energy Michael and TOR put out for this album!  The album starts off with an electrifying short instrumental written by Michael called "Neptune Rising" that left me wanting more!  The lyrics that Doogie White wrote for the album are fantastic and full of dark fantasy.  Rarebell, Buchholz, and Findlay give a thunderous powerful rhythm through-out the album with Schenker rolling in and out with his awesome solos!  You can hear some familiar Schenker licks, but there are many more new sounds coming from him in this album.  I really like "Rock N Roll Symphony" I think it captures Michael's excitement and new attitude in this stage of his life, "It's the music we live for, the music we love."
