Also featured is the classic “Seasons”, still a staple in Steve’s set-list today.

Todays featured band are from Bristol UK, and I have promised not to make any jokes about the town. Frontman is Scott Sharp who was encouraged to sing to rock music by the performances of the school's (only) pianist who had a repertoire comprising of the standards- that is Rock n' Roll standards Meatloaf, Beatles,The Who, T-Rex etc and no idea about the more normal school assemblies fodder of All Things Bright, Morning has broken et al which is a pretty good start to appreciation of Rock music.
On Lead they have John Greenhill who has been playing since the age of twelve. Jason Cronin founder member of the band on Rhythm Guitar,Benn Webb on Bass and with Drums in the capable hands of Tom Lennox-Brown, who I am told learnt his craft in a marching band? ( yes I remember this one time at band camp )
These guys look like the kind of band that plays to biker audiences, yep and they sound like that kind of biker friendly, loud as hell,foot stomping, head shaking band so its no surprise they will be at the Bulldog Bash on the 9-12 August so if you are there head for the Area 81 Rock Club Stage and show the love.
Back to the music it is heavy beat rock very raw and very tasty exactly what the target audience wants to get them going. Their first EP album 'Taking Root' is very addictive 'Finding Fables' I reckon to be the pick of the Wolves litter, it is riff heavy with a head banging bass line really showing what Black Wolf are capable of, when they are playing that at the Bulldog anybody not shaking should have their pulse taken immediately and clothing loosened.
Black Wolf's first gigs were in early 2010 and they have been building since reaching the finals of the Surface Unsigned bands competition at the 02 in London in the September and then getting their first Bulldog call in 2011 and of course asked back for 2012. This years gigs will include Birmingham Shropshire, Glasgow, Worcestershire, Gloucester & Wales so they are definitely putting it about a bit and are in the final cut of voting for Hard Rock Hell So get your votes when they have the big playoff in Glasgow at Highway to Hell 19-20th October the competition is going to be stiff but my money is on them going the distance, so Hard Rock Hell and Hammerfest are certainly on the cards and we know that famously rude slogan of Stiff Records that will be a competition to savour.
I would recommend you preview the album at Blackwolf's myspace page. It's a very heady first release, rather than going the old route of adding in fillers to bulk out the content every track deserves to be included in the debut and in your media player play list myspace link

KISS is set to release ‘Destroyer: Resurrected’ through Universal on August 20th 2012 as well as a 1lp vinyl edition on 27th of the same month.
KISS is regarded as one of the most influential rock and roll bands of all-time and holds the honour as one of America’s top gold-record champions. On August 20, 2012, Universal Music will release KISS’s 1976 multi-platinum, landmark album Destroyer: Resurrected, newly remixed from the original master tapes by the album’s original producer, Bob Ezrin. Ezrin pulled the tapes from the vaults and painstakingly remixed the entire album, enhancing the sound and bringing out its rich texture and vibrancy, while keeping the integrity of the original recording intact. Destroyer: Resurrected will also include rare and unreleased recordings rediscovered during the remixing process, plus the originally intended cover artwork.
Hot on the heels of their breakthrough hit album Alive!, KISS released their fourth studio album Destroyer which is considered the most ambitious studio recording of KISS's '70s catalogue. Bob Ezrin, who had previously worked with Alice Cooper, was brought in to produce the album and among the production flourishes Ezrin introduced to KISS were sound effects, strings, a children’s choir, reversed drumming and the eerie, echoing sounds of screaming children over Gene Simmons’ vocals on “God of Thunder.” Upon its release, Destroyer reached the No. 11 position on the Billboard Top 200 and, with the help of the surprise top-10 hit “Beth,” was their first album to go platinum.
Originally released as the B-side to the single “Detroit Rock City,” “Beth,”–the heart-yearning ballad co-written and performed by drummer Peter Criss–was quickly picked up by radio nationwide and became the first top 10 for KISS, climbing all the way to the No. 7 position on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. While going through the original tapes, a forgotten vocal piece that was originally edited out in the final mix of “Beth” was discovered and now, for the first time, the complete original vocal recording has been restored and is included in the final mix. Other rediscovered gems include a complete, alternate guitar solo for the track “Sweet Pain,” now heard for the first time since it was originally recorded. The newly remixed “Sweet Pain” with the original guitar solo will be included as a bonus track. In addition to the treasures found buried in the hours of recordings, KISS classics such as “Detroit Rock City,” “Shout It Out Loud,” “Do You Love Me?” and “God of Thunder” were painstakingly remixed by Ezrin as he fleshed out the drums and guitars, bringing out the bottom end to the bass, making his mixes tight and tough.
In addition, Destroyer: Resurrected will now be issued with the originally intended cover art thought too controversial for the time. Created by artist Ken Kelly, the “brown” cover depicts KISS dressed in their ALIVE! costumes and standing on rubble in front of a burning city in ruins. At the time, the record company thought it was too violent and settled for the tamer “blue” version known today. This release also marked the first time that a comic-book illustration of the band appeared on the cover, confirming that the band was transforming from hard rockers to superheroes.
To this day, Destroyer remains one of the group’s most ambitious recordings and greatest accomplishments. In both Kerrang! and Guitar World magazine it is listed as one of the "100 Greatest Heavy Metal Albums of All Time" and in 2003, it was included on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. Now, with today’s state-of-the-art technology, this landmark release can be heard the way that KISS intended.
The unparalleled devotion and loyalty of the KISS Army to the “Hottest Band in the World” is a striking testament to the band’s unbreakable bond with its fans.

Tuesday 31st July 2012; Mean Fiddler in association with TKO, proudly present three evenings of spoken word performances with members of Rock Royalty in the intimate setting of one of London’s rock institutions, The Garage. Duff McKagan, Scott Ian and Chris Jericho will, for one night, be live on stage like you’ve never seen them before as part of the series debut of Rockstars Say The Funniest Things.
With a whole evening dedicated to each rocker, the series opens as it means to go on with a man who needs no introduction; Duff McKagan. After 12 years playing bass with Guns N’ Roses, the ongoing success from his band Loaded, and reuniting with former bandmates Slash and Matt Sorum in the supergroup, Velvet Revolver, Duff certainly has some stories to regale you with. On Tuesday 23rd October, McKagan presents ‘It’s So Easy: A Punk’s Review’ words and music from the book It’s So Easy (and other lies). As well as sharing memories from his musical journey, he will be playing some acoustic tracks and let the audience delve deeper into this life with a Q&A.
For the second instalment on Sunday 4th November, RSTFT brings an exclusive UK only Spoken Word performance from Scott Ian. The thrash metal hero best known for his raging rhythm guitar with the mighty Anthrax, Ian is also renowned for his stint hosting the VH1 Rock Show and interviewing some of all time greats including Ozzy Osbourne, Megadeth, Stone Temple Pilots and Tenacious D.
On his inclusion in the line up, Scott Ian said; “This is something I’ve wanted to do for a very long time. I’ve been travelling the world in the company of and hanging out with the greatest people on the planet for 31 years and I’ve got to tales to tell.”
The third musketeer joining this motley crew is frontman for heavy metal outfit Fozzy and World Wrestling legend, Chris Jericho. Jericho is one of the greatest showmen of the modern era, and on Sunday 25th November be prepared for uncensored tales from the roads travelled as both WWE Champion and with his band. As author of worldwide best selling autobiographies, time spent acting in film and in comic theatre, his 23 year career is access all areas for one night only.
Whether you’re a rock fan or wrestling junkie, RSTFT is a must for anyone who loves to escape with a good story, as these three icons take to the stage for a no holds barred account of their experiences.

Ugly Kid Joe announced their arrival back on the UK scene with a triumphant set at a sold out London Underworld and a second stage performance at Download festival in June 2012. This coincided with the digital release of brand new material – the “Stairway To Hell” EP. Stairway To Hell, a 6-song EP which heralds Ugly Kid Joe's return to the world of music after a long time away, contains songs spanning the full repertoire of influences which made Ugly Kid Joe one of the prime soundtracks for young snowboarders, surfers, keggers and characters worldwide. Whether it's “Devil’s Paradise”, with it's hypnotic riffery and hook line, the melodic power-fueled darkness of "No One Survives" or the irrepressibly memorable chug-n-chorus of "I'm Alright" it's clear that Ugly Kid Joe have everything they started with plus fatter chops and a (frankly) superior curve on songwriting.
And realize one VERY important thing about UKJ; they mean every goddam note, every goddam riff and every goddam moment they deliver. Like AC/DC, like Judas Priest, like Alice In Chains, what you see is what you get; it ain't any different in any other way other than the ability to perform-the-fuck out of their material…
The epicenter of it all is Whitfield Crane, his manic mischievous eyes hinting and glinting and dancing with gleeful joy at the mere thought of performing, of letting his inner demon out to wear angel wings and fly around the universe. If that's a mouthful to read, then know that Crane is an eyeful to absorb, a wonderfully cathartic wrecking ball of rock'n'roll energy as it used to be served, on the rocks with no need for tonic. A genuine international itinerant, Crane is the ultimate citizen of the world, and if the bastard had a large enough house, he'd have you ALL over for tea, a jam session and to swap stories of lives both lived and being lived.
Fellow 'Joes and long-time co-conspirators, guitarist Klaus Eichstadt and Dave Fortman (yes, the same Fortman who produced the EP as well as albums by Evanescence, Slipknot and Mudvayne among others), are of like-musical mind and quieter social assembly, allowing them to be the co-architects of UKJ and furthermore, to deliver the riffs necessary. Drummer Shannon Larkin (of Godsmack) continues where he left off the last time, propelling the band to a thicker, darker side of melody with some heavy, relentless percussion, and Cordell Crockett underpins it all with a rich, warm envelope of fat rock'n'roll bass guitar.
UKJ's stratospheric rise came about soon after their formation in 1990, when childhood friends Crane and Eichstadt decided to peruse the musical path in Santa Barbara, CA. After signing to Mercury Records, The band released the E.P. "As Ugly As They Wanna Be" in October of 1991, which went on to sell over 1,000,000 copies in the U.S. alone becoming the highest selling debut E.P. of all time. In 1992 UKJ released America's Least Wanted which became a double-platinum phenomenon, saw the band tour worldwide supporting legends such as Ozzy Osbourne and Van Halen, and thus perform in arenas and stadiums worldwide such as Wembley. It also spawned the top ten singles "Everything About You" and cover "Cat's In The Cradle" which all cemented UKJ as a flagship rock band who both engaged and entertained without any baggage; theirs was all about having a good, heavy-edged, time. Millions, it seemed, agreed. Two more albums were to come out, 1995's Menace To Sobriety and 1996's Motel California, before UKJ decided to take a hiatus whilst Crane was on a journey through India.

Following his acclaimed 2009/10 world tour performing the MSG 30th Anniversary Show, Michael was joined by (original MSG vocalist) Gary Barden, with a host of other classic rock legends including Carmine Appice, Simon Phillips, Chris Slade and Chris Glen. Schenker’s Temple of Rock is ready to conquer the UK with a celebrated kick-ass, all-star line-up.
Boasting Ex-Scorpions stars Herman Rarebell (drums) and Francis Buchholz (bass), MSG stalwart Wayne Findlay (keyboards) and Scottish vocalist Doogie White (ex Rainbow, Yngwie Malmsteen), the Temple Of Rock concerts will feature plenty of hits spanning Michael Schenker’s career with The Scorpions, UFO and MSG.
Songs to be performed by the “Temple of Rock” include UFO’s Rock Bottom and Doctor Doctor, MSG’s Armed and Ready and Into The Arena, and the Scorpions classics Another Piece of Meat and Rock You like a Hurricane. In addition, Schenker will perform brand new songs from the recently released Temple of Rock album including the Planet Rock radio favourite Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead.
In 2010, Michael Schenker received the Marshall '11' Award at the Classic Rock Magazine Roll Of Honour Awards. The following year he rocked the High Voltage Festival, and also toured the UK with Black Country Communion.
