TED NUGENT'S "ULTRALIVE BALLISTICROCK"

2CD/DVD

Frontiers

Ted Nugent's new 2CD/DVD (also available in Blu-Ray) live set called "Ultralive Ballisticrock" will be released in Europe October 18th and North America October 22nd 2013 on Frontier Records.

Ted Nugent, the Motor City Madman's 2011 tour was called "I Still Believe" meaning many things to Nuge, belief in the Spirit, the music, and the American Dream.  The DVD starts out explosive with loud and heavy guitar, stirring up the energy in the crowd.  The camera work is incredible for this show taking me face to face with each band member and features the entire band at several angles and not just focusing on one single member.  The boys are really givin' it hard for the show and they sound fantastic!  There was a five minute part of the show that was a little shabby, but I will let you decide.  All in all an excellent shot video with a couple of cool bonus features.

The album is wild and dangerous!  You are going to want to crank this up to full throttle.  It has some strong language which gives it that special loud and proud Uncle Ted touch.  Ted gives his earsplitting solos generously through out the album.  I enjoyed all the hits and especially liked "Great White Buffalo",  "Hey Baby" and "Need You Bad."

THE BAND:

Ted Nugent (the musician): vocals and guitar
Ted gained fame as lead guitarist for the Amboy Dukes and then in 1975 made a name for himself in the Ted Nugent Band releasing more than 34 albums and selling over 30 million records.

Derek St. Holmes: vocals and guitar
Derek was in the band "Scott" when Ted Nugent first heard Derek St. Holmes sing.  When the Amboy Dukes broke up Ted Nugent was looking for a singer to really blast him into stardom and Derek St. Holmes was the man for the job.  St. Holmes left the Ted Nugent band in 1978 and worked on writing and solo projects and then connecting with Nugent again in 1995 to co-write "Spirit Of The Wild."

Greg Smith: bass and vocals
Greg has collaborated with many high profile bands like Rainbow, Alice Cooper, Blue Oyster Cult, and Alan Parsons just to name a few.  A very talented singer and bass player.

Wild Mick Brown: drums
Wild Mick is co founder for Dokken and the only person to appear on every Dokken album.  This isn't the only Ted Nugent tour Brown has been on, he toured with Uncle Ted for his Unleash The Beast tour in 2006.

Nugent spears us with many distinguished hits on this 2CD/DVD set and it is loaded with the love and spirit of rock 'n' roll.  I still believe too, still believe Ted Nugent and the boys give a great show and give lots of energy and talent, making this an excellent live album and DVD.
