The Crimson ProjeKCt Live

to perform in London in March 2014

Robert Fripp approved King Crimson’s offshoot The Crimson ProjeKCt has announced a UK show at London’s Shepherds Bush Empire on 12th March. The set list for the evening will include material from the early 80s through the mid 1990s, with some classics from the early 70s.

The Crimson ProjeKCt features 3 members from the current incarnation of King Crimson and has a ‘double trio’ line up as KC did between 1994 and 1997. Adrian Belew (who also worked as a session and touring musician with Talking Heads, David Bowie, Frank Zappa and Nine Inch Nails amongst others) and Tony Levin (also famous for his extensive work with Peter Gabriel) joined King Crimson in 1981, giving birth to the 4th incarnation of the band, alongside Fripp and Bill Bruford. Pat Mastelotto (Mr Mister) joined in 1994, starting the double-trio phase with Trey Gunn. They last played together as King Crimson on a "retrospective" US tour in 2008, but haven't played in Europe since 2003.

In 2006, Adrian Belew formed The Adrian Belew Power Trio, a long term live project featuring Julie Slick on bass and Tobias Ralph (Joe Bowie’s Defunkt, Screaming Headless Torsos, Nena) on drums; in 2009, Tony Levin and Pat Mastelotto formed the trio Stick Men with acclaimed composer Markus Reuter on touch guitar. In August 2011 Belew, Levin and Mastelotto organized the "3 of a Perfect Pair Camp", a seminar where the two trios joined forces to perform King Crimson repertoire, followed by the "Two of a Perfect Trio" tour. In 2012, they supported Dream Theater under the name The Crimson ProjeKCt, with Markus covering Robert Fripps’ parts.

"Tony and myself discussed the not-easily-doable name of Stick Men & The Adrian Belew Power Trio That Do A Set Of King Crimson Music. Tony’s suggestion was ProjeKct Krimson. Mine was The Crimson ProjeKCt." – says Robert Fripp. The Crimson ProjeKCt has toured the United States twice and performed in both Russia and Japan; they’re set to hit European stages for the first time in 2014. A unique opportunity for any European King Crimson fan after 10 years of live abstinence: book your tickets now to avoid disappointment.
