HEART & FRIENDS ~ 'HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS' ~
OUT 7TH OF NOVEMBER 2014

Heart & Friends ~ Home For The Holidays CD/DVD

2012 and 2013 has been amazing years for Heart as they have made their come-back after several years. They’ve put together an impressive boxset called “Strange Euphoria” a very good book called Kicking and Screaming and their 14th studio album ‘Fanatic’. On September 25, 2012, Ann & Nancy received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for their contributions to music and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on April 18, 2013.

Some of the most wonderful things about the holidays is bringing family and friends together to share in love, memories, and music. Heart has done just that for us in 2014, bringing friends together to make memories with a warm and fun Christmas album and DVD ‘Home For The Holidays’ to get you in the holiday mood.

Special guests Shawn Colvin, Sammy Hagar, Richard Marx and Pat Monahan from Train joined HEART for this once-in-a-lifetime concert which was taped on December 12th 2013 at the beautiful Benaroya Symphony Concert Hall in Seattle, Washington.

The first half of the performance starts out slow and warm with beautiful songs of love and Christmas. The first two tracks are my favorite acoustic songs sung by Ann Wilson called “River” and “Seasons.” They definitely bring the loving feeling of Christmas and I find myself wanting to snuggle up with my partner under a warm blanket and happily be in love.

Half way through the album, I am throwing back the blanket and dancing around the Christmas tree! You can’t help but have a good time with Sammy (Sammy Claus) Hagar! He’s just one of those performers that lights up a room with his presence! Nancy Wilson and Sammy Hagar collaborated on a fantastic song called, “All We Need Is An Island.” It’s not exactly a Christmas song, but a great tune with a Hawaiian vibe! Nancy and Sammy are a perfect match for this duet! Sammy Hagar and Nancy Wilson go on to perform another duet called, “Santa’s Going South For Christmas.” No snow, no rain, jet skis, and palm trees. I think Sammy stole Santa and moved him to Mexico!

Ann Wilson, as everyone knows, has a voice that can move people in many emotional ways including and not limited to crying. Pat Monahan and Ann sing together for “Please Come Home For Christmas.” This song was done in a bluesy groove and has a sweet guitar solo by Craig Bartock in the middle. Pat does a great job matching Ann’s powerful energy and emotion for this song!

The last track on the CD is called “Ring Them Bells” and was my favorite song! They performed this using a full choir giving the song a gospel sound. Debbie Shair played the AWESOME Pipe Organ and I’ve had the pleasure of seeing her play this same organ before, which she is brilliant at! Richard Marx and Pat Colvin sang back up while Ann, Nancy, and Pat Monahan took turns singing and stirring my soul with joy.

‘Home For The Holidays’ is a brilliant CD/DVD bringing friends and family together and making memories for a beautiful holiday performance filled with love and appreciation of their fans.
