IT BITES
WHOLE NEW WORLD
THE VIRGIN ALBUMS 1986-1991
1ST DECEMBER 2014
This set brings together It Bites’ complete output for Virgin, including rare B-sides and live tracks. All the tracks have been digitally remastered and the set comes complete with new artwork and liner notes by respected rock journalist, Malcolm Dome.
Although the band continues to tour and record, some of the tracks here have not seen the light of day for a number of years.
It Bites Burst Out Of Cumbria in 1986 with the massive hit single Calling All The Heroes. The band included Francis Dunnery (Vocals/Guitar), Bob Dalton (Drums), Dick Nolan (Bass) and John Beck (Keyboards). The band were not just your average "Pop Sensation" and digging a little deeper on the bands albums you found a great rock band. During the years 1986-1991 the band released three studio albums Big Lad In The Windmill (1986), Once Around The World (1988) and Eat Me In St Louis (1989). They also released a live album just before splitting Thank You And Goodnight (1991)
After the split Francis Dunnery embarked on a solo career punctuated for a time in the nineties by work with Robert Plant in his band.
Since then the band have re formed with guitarist John Mitchell replacing Francis Dunnery and Dick Nolan replaced firstly by Lee Pomeroy and latterly by Nathan King
The albums and music contained within this excellent boxed set however really does capture the original line up at their very best
